Welcome to the Sevenoaks Kundalini Yoga Collective!

What is Kundalini Yoga?
Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is known as the yoga of awareness and transformation. It is an ancient and powerful tool that draws upon movement, dynamic breathing practices, meditation, and the chanting of mantras to form an exciting blend of spiritual and physical practices. The purpose of these practices is to increase physical vitality and inner consciousness. It gives you the experience of connecting with your personal power, clarity of mind and wholeness of being. Perhaps the yoga can seem a little challenging in the beginning, but a steady practice will see rapid improvements. It is a yoga that is accessible to all, and you need not be particularly flexible to fully benefit from the exercises. For a deeper discussion of Kundalini Yoga, click here.
And the Collective?
The Sevenoaks Collective is made up of teachers trained by Karam Kriya School headed by Shiv Charan Singh. We trained together at Bore Place near Weald in the school's first residential Level One training offered in the UK. We are now certified and offer yoga classes on Tuesday and Friday mornings, as well as Thursday and Sunday evenings. At present the instructors rotate teaching the Friday morning class, with occasional guest teachers.
We are presently located in a yoga studio at the bottom of a private garden in Kemsing at 145 Pilgrim's Way. The studio is open for classes and events, but otherwise not generally accessible to the public. Classes and events also take place at a second studio in Riverhead.
The Importance of Community
We see Kundalini Yoga as a beautiful way to uplift and strengthen humanity in these challenging times, and we feel privileged to share that gift with those who are drawn to it and recognise its merits.
In the very act of sharing, we begin to create something larger than ourselves which holds the energy of the whole collective. Our vision is that friendships and community around the Sevenoaks Kundalini Yoga Collective will continue to unfold in a way that exemplifies kindness, compassion and creativity.

Introductory Courses

Welcome to the Yoga Garden...
"Mornings spent with the Kundalini Collective are full of warmth, joy and energetic bliss. I look forward to every class with gratitude and delight."
-- Mandy Jane Bruce, Knockholt
"Would you like to become enlightened, and discover the more expanded version of you? Then Mary Ann, Bill and Lisa have a wealth of knowledge to help you on your way. Sat Nam."
-- Marilyn Winders, Kemsing
"Each teacher brings a different energy to the class. There is a real sense of sharing and community, and the studio is a beautiful place to spend time. The lessons (kriyas) are holistic, incorporating meditation and chants; working the mind and other subtle layers of your being-- as well as the body. Discovering yoga, and Kundalini in particular, is transformational."
-- Cazz Lang, Seal

"I discovered kundalini yoga with Mary Ann, Bill and Lisa, and it has become one of my favourite tools for well-being and for cultivating my vital energy.
I love the huge variety of pose sequences, the breathing involved, the mantras, and how kriyas can be chosen to match a mood, a season or a particular theme. Mary Ann, Bill and Lisa are passionate and inspiring teachers, their classes are often challenging, but always good fun, and easier versions of the poses are shown. It is a great practice for improving mental strength and awareness of the present moment. And Mary Ann's garden studio is a lovely place!"
